"September Holidays in Japan" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-16 05:24:17

Respect for the Aged DayEvery third Monday in September the Japanese celebrate Keiro no Hi or Respect for the Aged Day. Originally held on September 15th the holiday due to Japan’s implementation of the Happy Monday System was moved in 2003 to the third Monday of the same month. Respect for the Aged Day is a relatively new holiday so there are no special customs associated with the day. It is however an important day for showing respect to the elderly people of society celebrating their longevity and praying for their health. At school children draw pictures and make crafts for their grandparents or sometimes even for nursing home residents. The media also highlight the day focusing on the oldest residents of Japan. Some elders such as Centenarians even receive commemorative gifts from their local governments. The holiday’s origins can be traced back to 1947 when it was known as Toshoyori no Hi or Old People’s Day. It was not until 1966 that it was declared an official national holiday and its name was changed to Respect for the Aged Day. Autumn Equinox DayIn Japan. Shubun no Hi or Autumnal Equinox Day takes place on September 23rd or 24th depending on the year. On this day day and night are exactly the same in length for the sun crosses the equator from the Northern to Southern Hemisphere. After this date days start to get shorter and nights start to get longer. Autumnal Equinox Day does not just mark a change in seasons however. It’s also a day for paying respect to deceased ancestors. The Japanese visit family graves and offer prayers to their lost loved ones. They clean the tombstones offer flowers and food and burn incense. The week of Autumnal Equinox beginning three days before Autumnal Equinox Day and ending three days afterwards is called Higan in Japan. In the fall it marks the end of the summer heat as it gives way to the much cooler crisper air of autumn.

"Is Passover Observance for Christians" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 02:36:08

by Mike FarrisMention that you observe the Passover but with New Testament symbols to most Christians and you will often be asked. “Are you a Christian Jew?” It’s the common conception today that Christainity celebrates Easter and only Jews observe the Passover. But why?Did you know that Jesus himself and all the apostles desire after His resurrection taught the converts to Christianity to observe the New Testament Passover? Yep it’s right there in your Bible hidden in plain comprehend. But first a little background. The apostle Paul is called the apostle to the gentiles. Most people have been taught that the word “gentile” means anyone who is not a “Jew”. Wrong! The word gentile means nations. Paul was the apostle to the NATIONS of Israel. Jesus said that He came to seek the “lost sheep of the House of Israel”. These are the populate who were scattered to the “north and west” (what is now called the UK and other white Christian nations of Europe) and were known as gentiles (Israel nations outside of Judea) by the time Paul was sent to them. The only Israelites left in Judea were tiny remanents of the tribes of Judah. Benjamin and Levi… and all of them were of the accommodate of Judah not Israel. All of the apostles except Judas Iscariot were from tribe of Benjamin. The ten northern tribes had “lost” their Israel identity so Jesus true to His word chose Paul to go tell them the Messiah had go. sight how this understanding makes clear Paul’s statement to the Israelites in Galatia: “Seeing that I undergo been entrusted with the gospel(Good News of The Kingdom) to the uncircumcised(the Israelites who had forgotten this law) just as Peter with the gospel to the circumcised(the Israelites who still practiced this custom).” Galatians 2:7 Paul was not one of the original twelve apostles but was chosen by Jesus after the resurrection. In fact. Paul led a persecution against the early Christian converts having many arrested. But on the road to Damascus the glorified Jesus struck Paul alter(a wonderful paradox…you have to be blinded to falsehood to see the truth) and revealed to him that He was the Messiah and commissioned Paul as an apostle(which means one sent) to preach to the lost House of Israel. All but one of Paul’s letters was to the Churches scattered throughout the nations. In his first earn to the Israelites in the city of Corinth. Paul wrote: “For Christ OUR PASSOVER also has been sacrificed. LET US therefore CELEBRATE THE FEAST not with the old leaven nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness but with the UNLEAVENED BREAD of sincerity and truth.” 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 Paul was not only teaching these Israel Christians to observe the Passover but to “celebrate the feast” of unleavened bread which follows it. How can we experience that Jesus instructed Paul to teach the Passover observance to new converts? We will soon find the answer in the eleventh chapter of first Corinthians. First Corinthians is a “letter” not a “book”. What does this mean? It means that it was composed in a single time frame and what is mentioned later is connected to something previously stated. And the letter was read to the Churches in Corinth from beginning to end in one sitting. The reference to Passover and Unleavened cover in chapter 5 would likely mean that the letter arrived in early Spring about the measure of their commanded observance. There must have been a problem with HOW (not if) these new converts were observing the Passover because Paul corrects them. It appears that some were bringing large meals to eat before the actual Passover and were eating freely in the presence of brethern who had not brought any food. In chapter 11 verse 20. Paul reminds them that they are not coming together to eat the “Lord’s supper” - meaning that unlike the old testament Passover where a family ate a whole lamb that their “Lamb” is Jesus and His “meat” is unleavened cover symbolizing “sincerety and truth”. Also it was the custom under the old law to throw out all leaven from their houses during the seven days of Unleavened Bread. We know now that our body is the “accommodate” (actually Temple) of the Holy animate and we are to throw out the ”malice and wickedness ” from THAT house. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26: “For I (Paul) RECEIVED FROM THE ennoble that which I ALSO DELIVERED TO YOU that the Lord Jesus IN THE NIGHT HE WAS BETRAYED took BREAD; and when He had given thanks. He broke it and said. “THIS IS (the symbol) of MY be which is for you. DO THIS IN REMEMBERANCE of ME.” In the same way He took the CUP also. AFTER SUPPER saying. - “THIS is the NEW COVENANT in MY BLOOD; DO THIS as often as you consume it in remembrance of Me.” “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup you entitle the LORD’S DEATH until He comes.”Let’s review what Paul just said concerning the New Testament Passover observance. Paul said that he “DELIVERED” to the new converts that which he had “RECEIVED” from the LORD. Paul did not say. “Do this anytime you want to” or “often”. He said. “as often(or when) you do this” you proclaim the Lord’s death(not His birthday). Passover is an annual MEMORIAL of the Lord’s death. The memorial is on the 14th day of the first month of Spring the same day the Passover lamb was slain in Egypt which forshadowed the blessed bear to come. bequeath Paul instructing us to “get together the Feast” of Unleavened Bread earlier in his letter? This shows WHEN we are to partake of the Bread and the Cup… it is the TIME of the Passover at its appointed measure.“The Lord’s appointed times (feasts) which you shall proclaim as HOLY CONVOCATIONS(a holy assembly but more like a “dress rehersal”). MY (God’s not man’s traditions) appointed times are these… In the first month on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the Lord’s PASSOVER.” Leveticus 23:1,5 On that first Passover in Egypt a lamb was slain its daub smeared on the lie of the Isrealites homes to defend them from DEATH which would pass over them that evening. More than a thousand years later a Lamb called Jesus gave His life on this very same day. The Passover is a memorial FOREVER the the daub of the Lamb over the doorposts of our hearts is the ONLY protection we have from the second death.

"Autumn Lawn Care Tasks with Tips" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 20:54:27

By James Kilkelly Summer officially gives way to autumn on the 22nd of September which is known as the autumnal equinox but for the lawn owner autumn begins much earlier. This is because the green keeping tasks for autumn mouth from the 1st day of September. Your first task is to make changes to your mowing method. I would suggest raising the height of cut by 1cm above your summer mowing height which will give you an ultimate mowing height of 3cm (1 inches). The reason why you raise the cut to this height in autumn is to accept for the slowing of grass growth on top of this I would usually mow just once a week once this growth begins to decrease. Should your lawns experience from slow growth in the move or during dry spells in the summer you may consider applying an autumn lawn feed to develop strong roots and hardiness. If you feel your lawn is not all it should be and would benefit from this autumn pampering then by all means apply the fertiliser but ensure it is specially formulated for autumn application an autumn lawn cater such as this contains phosphates and potash whilst omitting nitrogen which would cause unwanted growth. Many gardens may have goalmouths and beaten paths to washing lines that are tread-bare sparsely populated by grass or compacted. Address these now to have them ship-shape for next season start by driving the prongs of a tend fork approx 15cm (6 inches) into the compacted turf at various points throughout the affected area. This is a create of aeration which allows more air to reach the hit plants roots on compacted soils. To alter up your hit sward in these high traffic areas we must introduce fresh disgorge so firstly we must act a seedbed. Add a light forge of clean loamy topsoil (This is available bagged in most tend centres) rake this with a flat garden displace to the consistency of large cake crumbs and follow this by shaking on some lawn disgorge at a rate of 40 to 50g per square metre. Tamp down lightly with the flat of the rake to ensure firm seed-soil contact alternatively on large areas use a light garden roller. Try to forbid mowing the reseeded area until next season as most lawnmowers tend to unsettle the new seed due to their vacuum challenge. As well as being a good month for reseeding expose areas. September is also a good measure to sow new lawn from disgorge with many being sown over the early autumn weeks. James Kilkelly is a freelance horticulturalist and tend writer for four Irish regional newspapers. His forum http://www gardenplansireland.

"Pillars of the Holy Hill" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 16:45:44

The letters IHS or the Greek iota-eta-sigma stands for the first three letters of the Greek label for Jesus (IHCOYC). This "Christogram" may be as JHC. JHS or IHC. sight that the lay between the "pillars" of the H is filled with the go across of Jesus. This is a perfect representation of Jesus between two other crucifixes or pillars. The horizontal lie between the H's pillars bends slightly upward desire a hill. As a sun symbol we can see this as the sun rising on the horizen. It may move out that it represent the setting sun as it does be the death of the son/sun after all. According to Wikipedia "IHS" may also "become from the ancient Egyptian trinity Isis. Horus and Seb. Deities of sun adore." Here is a pretty nice picture of Jesus on the go across with the theives and an angel and demon coming for them. Above in the triangle area is 4 fleur-de-lis marking the four corners of the world and above that is an eight-rayed star marking the cross-quarter festivals. Jesus looks toward the "dark half" of the year more specifically at Samhain. Samhain is the final collect of the year sometimes called "Blood collect," and represents the end of summer. Quite allot eh? Samhain is derived from the words meaning "summer" and "sunset/end." More casually. Jesus could be seen to be looking towards the Winter Solstice representing the archtypical death of the sun and the start of the Roman festival of Saturnalia. "On the first day of fall the sun rises due east. Every morning after that from fall to winter it rises further and advance south on the horizon until on the first day of pass it is as far south as it ordain ever be. Then it swings back rising northward morning by morning until the first day of pass when it is as far north on the horizon as it will ever be. Then like a very slow pendulum the sunrise starts moving down the horizon again. desire before there were calendars made of paper to hang on the wall there were calendars of stone in the woods to tell measure by. Ancient cultures lived according to the seasons too and for some certain days were very important. The people watched the sun – where it rose and set – and marked those days by aligning boulders with a landmark and the rising sun peeking over the horizon in lie with them both." Typically 2 large stones (mega-liths) would be used to attach the area where the sun rose on a particular date. There may be three sets of such stones marking the spring/autumn equinox and the winter and summer solstices. The stones and the horizen between them look like the top of the letter H. Maybe that's why "Triple H" uses the equilateral sun cross symbol? (No I don't check wrestling but I did know there was someone named Triple H and just did a google-image examine.) In the schedule of Enoch in speaking of the fallen angels it is said: "The label of the first is Yekun: he it as who seduced all the sons of the Holy Angel; and causing them to descend on earth led astray the offspring of men.. and the label as Yekain is fitly represented by a phallic column" - Albert Pike (Book of the Words) Yekun becomes Jakin one of the pillars at the gates of Solomon's (Aton's) Temple. We see these two stately pillars at the portals of all masonic lodges and important government buildings. These phallic altars to Lucifer (Aton) can be found in most civic centers in the world as the obelisk lift or single erect kill monument. They rest in the center of prominent city "squares" and come important banks churches and educational institutions. The very word phallic comes from phalos which meaning "white" or "bright." It is akin to phaos that also means "light." By the very name it (the phallus) was connected with the Sun - Albert Pike Another interesting thing about the sunrise is it's connection to the number 33 and not just "how old Jesus was." "During three years of observation the Sun appears to be slipping ever more away from the original alignment until at the fourth year two things come about simultaneously - the Sun rises once more very close to its original position above the marker stone and the day ascertain - the tally - for the year is open to be 366 and not 365 days. The observer tallies 365+365+365+366 which is 1461 sunrises (days) over the four years. Over a few years of observation the solar year is discovered to be 365.25 days in length as accurate as our Roman (Gregorian) solar calendar. But the eye can detect much more miniscule angular changes than a accommodate of a degree. Using this kind of observatory a bring together of minutes of degree is detectable. And here’s where we pick up the solar-hero myth. After thirty-three years. 12,053 days or sunrises one can observe an claim repeat of the original equinoctial rising behind the marker stone." () Glad u stayed change state. Its enlightening to see 'my cram' go through trans4mations and in fact researched to a far greater degree. Sometimes I conclude the little synchs go round and round changing incrementally with each passing attention. The Nails - the earn Vaw = the 6th letter of the Hebrew Alephbeyt and it means 'attach' thus a limb-penetrating 666Most of the twin pillars seem to have this triangular - capstone cause be it a roof as in the Cathedrals or the struts of the Petronas lift - they get me noticing the same shape with the Ferris Wheels. Also on the accomplish with the Crucifixion overlaid JC leans his continue North-East - any significance? In some countries Christos = Hristos and H = the 8th earn thus blending into the Octagonal Freedom TowerCiao4Now Thanks for the great insights into the letter values/meanings. I almost went into it a bit deeper but alas. I needed sleep. I also almost mentioned that the hebrew letter Shin looks like the sun rising between 2 pillars or just 3 pillars; and its value is even 300; the same value as the Greek earn Tau. Speaking of H's the Druid's crucified saviour was known as Esus and Hesus. That one giant ferris go around (which they're building in China now I think) sure is interesting. It has a pyramid at the center of the wheel/stargate. And the pyramid as world pillar would support the heavens as they move in precession of the equinoxes. That reminds me. I read about monks meditating on the north star in request to jaunt through a stargate or something.. I forget now. oh well.

"Harvest Home" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 22:37:22

I ended my last affix with a reference to the autumnal equinox and the shortening of the days.  This equinox also known as Harvest Home or Mabon on September 23 (beginning the evening before) marks the second time of the year (the first is the spring equinox) when day and night are of equal length.  After the autumnal equinox the days will continue to grow shorter and the night longer.  Mabon or collect domiciliate celebrates the “bringing home” of the pass’s crop the measure when harvest festivals (also known as state fairs) are held and we can begin to relax a bit after the pass’s hard bring home the bacon.  We can catch up on our reading try out some new recipes do a little painting… The watercolors above are a set of four ATC’s or Artist Trading Cards that I painted for an ATC “change”.  The furnish of this change was pagan celebrations and so I painted two cards with Ostara (Easter) symbols one for Beltane and one for Mabon in the displace right-hand corner.  It’s a representation of the Mayan maize god depicted as an ear of corn. Here’s a recipe I made up recently using some sweet potatoes our next-door farmer/neighbor gave us and some of our corn (steamed and scraped off the cobs): strip and cube sweet potatoes create from raw material in microwave with a little water and cover until gift. Add 1 can of black beans (drained) some fake crab (chopped) cooked feed kernels shredded cheese (cheddar colby or jalapeno jack). Season with cumin seasoned pepper lemon pepper garlic powder to comprehend. cook until hot. As you can see this recipe was made entirely in the microwave.  We’ve decided not to fix our stove for various reasons: it uses lots of electricity not good for our aging change integrity box or the environment.  We really don’t be it because of having the microwave toaster oven camp stove (on the porch).  Most of my cooking involves steaming or sauteeing vegetables and maybe cooking some rice or couscous for which I only be a burner or two.  To give this be without having to go out on the porch to use the dwell stove in the dark and cold of approaching pass we are going to acquire a small propane camp stove to set on top of the not-functioning oven.  We’re also going to start using our crock pot again which we’ve discovered uses surprisingly little electricity.  In the winter we eat lots of soups and stews and the crock pot is perfect for that.  I also discovered that you can make bread in one; I’ll let you know how that turns out. <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <have in mind> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong>
