"Substance editing, ethics, and other matters :: RE: Dead Animals ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-16 05:23:29

This topic came up the other day over pictures of dead deer turkeys and fish being put in sports. Unfortunately even though my city is the fifth largest in the state we still do the hunting nonsense. Unless your paper is a rural weekly. I don't think they have ANY place in sports. Many of my coworkers agree others think it's just fine and dandy. My problem is this: I do not want to ban hunting. I understand we have a deer overpopulation problem. I understand some people eat their kill. But the fact remains that the majority of hunters hunt because they derive pleasure in killing an animal. Their main reason isn't altruism so I wish they'd just admit it. My beef is with calling it a sport and hunters sportsmen. They are hunters not sportsmen. A sport is a game played with fairly even sides both of whom CHOOSE to play the game. Call it what it is. They use "sporty" words like they "tagged" or "took" or "bagged" a deer. Why the fear of saying they KILLED a deer? Or blew it's brains out?And why put these identical pictures of these people with their kills on our pages over and over? All deer look exactly alike! Unless a deer has three heads or 6 legs it's nothing but an ego trip for the hunter with most readers not interested. I will never understand the need to show it off as if they accomplished something so difficut. Wow look at that deer! I never saw one quite like that before! Makes me sick. Okay. I'll get off my soapbox. How do you all feel about this practice? 1. Photos of football players celebrating a touchdown in the end zone look the same too. Yet we run those every week. Pictures of various car-bombing wreckage in Iraq also look the same. And we run those. I suppose someone could point to nuances that make the photos unique and valuable in each case hunting included.2. I don't hunt but a good friend does and we've had this debate many times. I've come to lighten up on my stance because while some hunters might hunt simply for the joy of killing. I don't believe that's the case among the majority of them. As a city boy (an indoorsman if you will) hunting is just something I don't understand. It's not my culture. But to simply dismiss hunting as you have. I think is a little insulting to the many many people who do it for reasons they feel as strongly about as you do.3. Sports. It's a loose definition. Golf? Auto racing? Anything that requires some sort of physical skill (or an obscene amount of gear)? Whatever. That's why we have a sports editor. He can make that decision. 4. I don't make the paper for me. If I got rid of everything in the paper I disagree with or don't care about it'd be a great paper. But I'm pretty sure the readers where I live might disagree._________________Mike EilerColorado Springs If chess is a recognized sports (reference: IOC's Web site) and you could win a gold in the biathlon why wouldn't it be OK to call it a sport. Like Mike and Jim. I agree that MOST do hunt for sport not for because they have a thirst for blood. What about fishing? And some of the best sportswriting I've seen came from the "Outdoors" section of papers like the SF Chronicle and L. A. Times. Plus some papers put fantasy football and (gasp) "pro" wrestling in sports. Although I've only been hunting once and didn't like it (nearly was shot Cheney style). I see no problem running hunting in the sports section. BUT. I agree that photos may be a bit much. Deer do look the same.. we don't run any outdoors photos (our outdoors coverage took the buyout) but if we did we'd be more interested in the people not the game (or animals for laypeople). Above all and everyone touched on this hunting may reflect the lifestyle of the readership which should always be utmost for a paper. After my soapbox conclusion it's only fair to mention that the majority people in the Bay Area aren't too keen on hunting -- unless it's for a bargain wine. One question: In the new Mercury News would hunting go in the Live. Play or Innovate section?_________________DANIEL HUNT | The News Journal | Wilmington. Del."The less you talk the more you're listened to." --Abigail Van Buren Deer hunting is a BIG deal around here. (Turn around this time of year and you'll run into Roger Clemens or Will Clark or some other baseball player hunting.)So we often run the dead deer photos on 1A. We did the check-in before it went Internet; this year we did a shot from a pickup for a meat processing point. We have newsroom staff who have a real big problem with hunting and others who hunt but my way of looking at this is a majority of our readers hunt live with someone who hunts or know someone who hunts and deer hunting is a big economic thing in the counties we cover. So it seems like a legitimate story. And although we ran the photo on a news page not sports we have a regular outdoors page in the sports section that talks about all types of hunting. That's where most papers that have such pages run their fishing pages too. It might not be my sport but it seems as much of a sport as auto racing or yachting._________________Gerri BerendzenQuincy (Ill.) Herald-Whig In fact in my area (just a bit south of Gerri) any time we have stories and pictures of big fish and big deer they stay on our top five Web hits for a couple of weeks..... Readers it seems really do like to see those photos of big dead fish and deer. (Yes we've apparently been found by some hunters' sites who watch us and link to stories. But they are part of our "audience," too). Our latest just this week was a 69-year-old woman who shot a big 10-point buck while she was sitting on an pail turned upside down in her back pasture within sight of her back yard because she wasn't able to walk very far..... But our philosophy is that sport need not be limited to organized teams who are equal more or less and that it in fact can and should include individual efforts of ordinary people — hence the outdoors page and "other" sports. We also think folks who run for the pure pleasure of it outside of organized team competition think of themselves as sportsmen and women. We think bowlers too see themselves in a sporting competition with each roll... the darts players at the local bars have their achievements that are worth noting in some form. In short we feel our sports sections should be inclusive and not restricted. As for the personal issues. I'm the daughter of a farmer and a hunter who had strict personal ethics on hunting. And if we meet in Denver ask me about the squirrels who held a party in my home (in a developed subdivision in the metro St. Louis area) during a Labor Day weekend when I was out of town.. and why I personally agree that those cute little squirrels are simply rats with long tails and should be dealt with appropriately..... Yes my feelings on hunting are personal but as I said. I am not PETA crazy. I grew up in a state that closed school for the first day of deer hunting and I know hunters now. I understand their license fees go towards wildlife management and all that reasoning. But it's true that most people hunt for "sport" or fun and not necessity. Oh they will say they eat it and care about overpopulation blah blah blah but the truth is they derive enjoyment from killing something. They do think of it as a fun sport and I find that morally objectionable. I have no problem putting hunting "news" in the paper (though I will never see it as a "sport"). Think of true hunters long-ago Native Americans who respected the life they killed said a prayer of thanks and didn't waste a speck unlike the beaver and buffalo hunters who skinned the animal and left the meat to rot. My beef is with running identical photos. Yes real sports photos show game after game after game and photos can look similar but they are not identical as dead deer pictures are. Deer dead on the ground as the "mighty" hunter holds their lifeless head up for the camera. My question is for the hunters: WHY do you need to show that off? What is so special about it? I guess papers will always print those pictures as long as people feel the need to show off a kill. I guess mankind hasn't evolved as much as we'd like to think. As to fishing. I used to LOVE fishing. Then as I got older and got involved with dog and cat rescue organizations and saw how horrible many people are to animals. I started to think more. Then I would fish but throw them back. Then I thought some more and came to the conclusion that it was morally wrong to do that to a living creature just for my pleasure. But in a totally opposite thought. I often think it would be better to eat JUST wild game because at least those animals lived a normal life before being killed unlike the way we have factor farms that treat cows pigs and poultry in the most disgusting of ways. So if there is a hunter out there hunting for that reason then the morality is line with compassion for living creatures. Um. I 've "already made up my mind and can't accommodate anyone else's views on the matter?"Don't we all have opinions that we make up our mind on? We all have our principaled stands whether it's this topic or any other such as abortion or gun rights or whatever. Should those thinking dead pictures are fine accomodate my views or are their minds made up? Or do you think it's okay to have a mind made up as long as it agrees with you? Like I said. I was just stating my opinion and anyone stating their opininon should be totally honest. And I do check my opinions at the newsrooom door. You are right about that Jim. I am not on a campaign to have them removed. I just wanted to know if people here felt the same way as my newsroom--where I find most think they are NOT newsworthy enough to run. But the powers that be catering to the hunting dempgraphic want them to stay and yes you have to please your readers. In regard to Beef No. 1 the first listed definition of the word "sportsman" in Webster's New World College Dictionary (4th ed.) is "a man who is interested in or takes part in sports esp in hunting fishing etc." So it would appear that hunting is indeed a sport and hunters are sportsmen. One could argue that the dictionary editors have it all wrong but that would be sort of a moot point. As to Beef No. 2 the photos are not all alike. Each one (presumably) has a different human being in it proudly posing with whatever tick- or louse-ridden thing they've killed. And (presumably) each one of those people is going to buy at least one copy of your newspaper to stare at in the privacy of their own homes or to share with their friends. If your paper runs a lot of these photos that means a lot of people WANT them to run even if it's just those people in the photos and their immediate family members. Lots of people wanting something that your paper is providing is a good thing. Would you really want all these pictures and perhaps many of the people in them to just disappear from your newspaper? Yes. I guess by the definition hunting can be considered a sport but to me a sport is an even contest between teams who choose to play with similar skills to make the match a real contest. Definition of sport: "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often competitive in nature," and "diversion recreation," "to amuse oneself with some pleasant pastime or sport."Main definition. It doesn't take much skill to shoot a deer as they are all over the place. I can look out my window and see one grab a gun and take it down. Then you have diversion recreation amusement which takes me back to my point that the vast majority of hunters do not hunt for necessity but because they find pleasure in it. That to me is what is wrong. But for some reason hunters won't ADMIT this. They always have to say they eat it or that deer will starve and their fees go to wildlife management. All true but their main motiviation is pleasure not altruism. Just have the balls to admit it. Use the word kill instead of "tag" "took" "bagged" and my favorite. "harvested." As for the selling of papers. I guess the person in the photo would buy a copy if he is in it (if he doesn't have a subscription) but I doubt there are a scores of others lining up to buy the paper to see strangers with an animal everyone sees almost every day. Newspapers are shrinking paper size cutting pages to cut costs and I think it's a waste to take up space with four or five pictures of deer-in-the lap photos. I guess mankind has always equated killing an animal with manliness. And I'm sure people would buy papers if we ran photos of murder victims lying on the ground before parmedics arrive. I'm sure we'd sell tons of papers if we featured gals at the local strip club or the best hooters on the Hooter girl of the week. But I realize that in today's world where papers are losing revenue day after day that there will be more sucking up to advertisers more fear of offending readership. It used to be we didn't tell readers what to think but what to think about. Today we are more like television news shows where we simply give people news that simply reflects their already-held views in many cases. I wouldn't mind hunting pictures if the hunter killed the biggest deer ever recorded or a buck with the most points ever recorded or one of those wild hogs that weighs a thousand pounds or the biggest catfish ever caught in the local river. Dog bites man is boring as the saying goes but man bites dog is news. And no. I wouldn't mind if all those pictures disappeared. They have in many papers. I just don't happen to work for one. I'd much rather see someone shoot wildlife with a camera. Now that would make for some great outdoor photos. Years ago. I worked at a paper in an area where hunting was popular. We didn't run photos of dead animals in the sports section. After we published a photo of a person being burned to death in another country the managing editor felt pressured to write a Sunday column defending its use. The photo later won a Pulitzer. We once ran a front-page feature about the opening day of deer season. The assistant photo editor presented a pile of photos with an explanation that he'd been careful to NOT show carcasses--he'd been warned that non-hunters would be quick to criticize this story. A photo published in black-and-white with the jump did show a hoof protruding over the side of a pickup's box. Quite a few readers complained about the story--particularly that photo. Our paper dominated its region of the state. It tried to please everyone. That's impossible as becomes clearer to newspaper staffs every day. I'd bet lots of smaller competitors ran dead-deer photos. And I bet some readers looked down on ours for not doing so. Damned if you damned if you don't. Just like choosing comic strips or wire stories about wars and politics. It's obvious you have strong feelings about this which I respect but it seems to me that you're doing exactly what you object to telling readers what to think. Maybe I misunderstood your point of your original post. I got the impression from it that you were objecting to the repetitiveness of the photos and the fact that they were in the Sports section. But you seem to be focusing a lot more on the virtues of hunting and hunters' motivation. You've decided how the vast majority of hunters think and you're demanding that they come clean and agree with you about it. I think you're clearly right that most if not all hunters hunt because they enjoy it. On the other hand although I'm not a hunter. I'd bet that if you asked most of them WOULD admit that they enjoy it. Who would spend all that money on gear for something they didn't enjoy? And there is a lot to enjoy aside from the killing part of it. There's hiking camping being outdoors playing with cool electronic gadgets reading maps wearing camouflage paying money for vials of urine identifying animal signs learning about animal behavior etc. I'm down with all of that except maybe the urine and the fact that I don't own a gun and don't really know how to use one and that I cried when I watched "Bambi" as a kid. But even if they all sign sworn affidavits stating that they enjoy hunting what would that change about your original complaint? Your paper would have all the more reason to publish the photos. No paper should be printing gory pictures of bleeding carcasses. But from what I've seen of these photos in various papers it's usually just some guy with a big grin and a gun holding up a deer's head. It's OK to oppose hunting. But it's an opinion that not everyone has to share. Actually yes it does bother me. I got involved with our local Humane Society years and years ago and do a lot of volunteer work for them and other local shelters. And when you get up close and personal to animal abuse and neglect your perspective changes. Before getting hired here. I was working towards vegetarianism. I had cut out beef and pork and poultry was next. Then I started work and fell off the wagon becuase it's easy to eat a hot dog or whatever. But I plan to get back on the program. I mentioned above that when I thought about it it's probably better to eat all hunted meat because at least those animals lived a normal life before being killed. Today's factory farms are a real horror show. My husband will never give up meatl so I thought about buying meat from a local farm where animals aren't confined pumped up with chemicals etc. Back in the day humans had to hunt for food for survival but today it's for fun and that's the crux of my issues with it. I also disapprove of circuses rodeos bull-fighting dog-fighting or any other pursuit that uses animals unnaturally for our amusement especially wild animals. I find your reservations interesting. Rodeo cowboys and cowgirls would tell you that rodeo animals are among the most pampered beings alive. Of course people who handle animals tend to work from dawn until dusk and their notions that rodeo animals are pampered may relate to how these animals are fed transported and kept but are best explained by the fact that broncs and bulls usually perform for less than 10 seconds and then only on rodeo days. It does take a few minutes to put an animal into a chute. Steers do get knocked down and calves roped but rodeo cowboys and cowgirls will argue that such treatment is seldom injurious. They will admit that broncs and bulls are justifiably angry when they perform and that steers and calves run because they are scared but I suspect that the cowboys and cowgirls who deal with the animals daily would dispute your condemnation of rodeos. I do understand how people who do not want to kill and do not want to be responsible for killing might become vegetarians. As a young man. I often participated in dinner-table conversations that focused on the hunting and killing of wild game or equally the butchering of domesticated animals. Everyone agreed that the animal killed loses its life whether the animal is wild or tame. At that time. I came to believe that it is hypocritical to blame the butcher but to eat the meat. It seemed to me that when a critic reaches the point that he or she cannot tolerate participating in the killing skinning and butchering of an animal he or she does not have the moral right to defer the responsibility for those actions placing them upon the shoulders of another. The responsibility remains even if he or she yields the rifle and the butcher knife to another. In those days. I thought that that must be the time that critic should become a vegetarian. But there is more to this you know and I presume that anybody who reaches this level of reflection is familiar with some of it. Grass eaters if left alone multiply. Normally they become so numerous that they overgraze and destroy that on which they thrive. The result of this is starvation and death by disease. Starvation and disease may be effective ways of culling a herd but the deaths are cruel and the lives being terminated are painful. In addition wherever there is disease there are some forms of it that can be transmitted from one species to another. It follows that if we foster this type of destruction in other species we human beings may suffer the consequences. Clearly the careful management of wildlife becomes as essential to our moral health as is the management of domestic livestock. There are some people who want us to revert to what they view as a natural system of herd control using wolves and cats as predators to cull the animals. Whether that is the best system remains in question for its practice may be every bit as cruel and merciless as is the system of starvation and disease. All those predators are brutal when they kill. They are awful in their capacity for inflicting pain. Have you ever seen a house cat maul a mouse torturing it to death? All cats do that with their prey. Have you ever seen a family of coyotes playing with their gopher victims? No cat could be more vicious. When a wolf or any other canine kills it often will go for the hamstring to disable the prey. Then that predator will tear its victim apart devouring much of it while it still is alive. Of all the predators the human with his powerful weapons kills most efficiently. If the human hunter blows the brains out of his or her prey the job is done quickly. And then – in this effort to limit the size of the herd to the capacity of its pastures – don't the motives of the hunter become irrelevant? So the question still remains: Should we run hunting pictures?I don't know._________________Richard Staffordcopy desk survivor For me it comes down to necessity vs just having fun. It's different to rope a calf when you need to move it or sell it or whatever but to do it to entertain an audience is what bothers me. So I simply choose to never support such events. You ask if motives matter. Yes to me that is what matters the most. If the interest was only to cull the herd and not fun and sport there would be no such thing as bow season. It most certainly matters if rare African animals are killed by natives to survive in the jungle or if outside hunters just want to cut the ivory for profit. I realize people need to eat and animals will be killed for food. The question is how we treat them and care for them until that point. Long ago all animals lived in open spaces on family farms before being killed. Today it's a factory farm. I think if everyone one of us saw what goes on in those places none of us would eat meat. And yes nature is brutal with predator and prey. But we are supposed to be enlightened thinking creatures on the top of the evolutionary ladder. Nature is just that--nature. Is it in OUR nature to use and abuse animals in the way we do for pleasure and not to fill hungry bellies? When animals kill others--its for survival for food. And if we were living in the wild like our ancestors instead of in houses with grocery stores down the street then the hunt would be a necessary practice as it is in many parts of the world today. Back to the original question: Shall we run photos of the kill? I think not because there is nothing newsworthy in them (Unless as I said it's something highly unusual or never before seen). Some say we have to please our readers. Do we want to go there? That all decisions are now based on the bottom line and only what readers want? I've already seen how fear of losing ad revenue shapes news decisions. Or how fear of offending a group shapes news decisions. We can all pretend it doesn't happen but it does every day and moreso than it used to. Deadline Dame. I approve of your preference for old fashioned ranch methods and do I like your position on some of the tight-quarter feed-lot practices today. But to dislike cruelty does not make me at all sympathetic with the rest of your argument. The question is: If the objective is to limit the number of grazing animals to the capacity of available grasslands and if the human hunter does so in the least cruel way available does it matter whether one human hunter kills because of blood lust and another because of hunger? The animal that is being killed is of importance but it dies either way. It dies in part so that others in its group can live and hopefully live well. Why should it have to succumb in the cruelest of ways when we who are at the top of the food chain can prevent that?Isn't it preferable to do the least harm while culling the herd?Or are you among the many inclined to hire grizzlies wolves and cats as herd-control hit men no matter how brutally they carry out their missions? As hunting during a non-rut season is part of the means we use collectively to manage wildlife and to keep the grass-eaters from outgrowing their resources news reports of such activities are not amiss. Because I believe this on further reflection. I’m going to cast my vote in favor of publishing the pictures with which you take issue at least in those papers that hunters read. Such pictures probably would be inappropriate in a fashion magazine. I guess but that is not my call._________________Richard Staffordcopy desk survivor Rich. I did say above that upon reflection it is probably better to eat all hunted meat because at least the animal lived a normal life beforehand unlike animals at factory farms. So I have my own moral issues with this. I struggle with this and it's why I know I should become a vegetarian. Only a hunter knows why he hunts. I am just disturbed by people who get enjoyment from killing something as sport. It's all about motive for me because that is something I can never condone. That's all a personal issue not a news issue. So if I ever decided to become a hunter it wouldn't be because I got a thrill from taking down an animal but because I didn't want to support factory farming. Any hunter who does it for that reason is okay by me but I don't think many hunters fall into that category. I don't want to not run the photos because they offend anyone but because I do not think they are newsworthy in any manner shape or form. I often wonder--if hunters are really concerned about simply managing the herds to prevent starvation and encroachment etc. how would they feel if professional hunters were hired to do the job as part of wildlife management? Of course that is not feasible but it would expose that even though such things are cited by hunters the bottom line is that they derive fun and enjoyment from killing. Again the motive is the issue with me. And yes intellectually I know that deer would suffer greatly if there was no hunt so it is better to quickly kill them. But I know in my heart most hunters aren't hunting to prevent a deer from suffering--let's be honest about that. It's like shelters that euthanize healthy dogs and cats because there is no room for them all and not enough people to adopt. I am not opposed to that. Some shelters are "no-kill" but then they ultimately limit the number of animals they can help by staying full with animals that might never be adoptable. So I have a problem with "no-kills" for that reason. So while I have my own moral conflicts. I will never think dead deer held in the lap of a hunter is worthy of an ounce of ink. The numbers of hunters is rapidly declining even here in the south so it's only a matter of time I guess.

First let me mouth with the housing arrangement. Use your imagination and conceive of a large alter store building with heating and air conditioning add 64 bunk beds with a locker and chair next to each one. Then add three offices one for a correctional officer and the other two for administrative use one recreation supply dwell one exercise room with four pieces of equipment laundry room with eight washers and dryers plus an ice machine three closed in TV rooms with a larger TV in the change state fourteen private showers with plenty hot water and a large restroom with a separate lavatory area. Second is the food service. Breakfast was from 6:00 am every morning weekdays and 7:00 am on weekends with food ranging from fruits cereal and milk to prepared eggs with heat. "Golf Swing Technique: Does It Have To Be Perfect?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 22:37:06

come up it's probably one of the most difficult sports to play and there are more people trying to deal solutions for your problems then you can move a fasten at. If you don't accept me flick on the golf channel for an hour and see how many commercials you see for the next greatest training aid. Some of these training aids bring home the bacon. I can't lay out that how ever I've often wondered if we need to undergo this ameliorate swing in order to apply the game and injure a half decent advance. play displace Realities While we all be to evaluate everyones play displace or at least I do the reality is all the little things we talk about in not lifting our head move our hips keep your arms straight are all to verify one thing occurs. When our golf club comes through the down swing to make force with the ball that club approach is perfectly form so that the roll goes straight. Now I'm not suggesting that you don't need to pay attention to keeping your continue drink feet straight and all those other finer points of the displace. How ever what I am saying is that you don't always need the ameliorate displace to play a half decent go of play. So with that being said what does it act to create a good swing? Facts about the Swing authorise so it's not so much facts plural as it is a fact. While your buddies on the course ordain be very quick to tell you that you lifted your head or you're not aimed correctly there is really only one key thing that must come about to make that roll go straight. You must undergo the face of the unify square to the ball at time of force. Of course all those other points your buddies continually bug you about are important but they are all go around offs of that one key inform we must verify the club face is connecting with the roll square on to alter sure it goes straight and as far as possible. So if all of those points we scrutinize over about the play displace aren't as important as we thought what does it take to create a good swing? The expose Minimum to make it go Straight There are five points I am going to have in mind that I evaluate are the "lazy" way to hitting the ball straight. Knees: This might not be all that important but when you're addressing the ball you should have your knees slightly bent. No so much that your knees are interfering with your displace but ever so slightly to furnish you perfect balance. Back: I see a lot of golfers when I'm out on the course hunched over the roll and trying to whack away at it with no success. With your knees being slightly bent as mentioned in the previous inform bind at the hips and keep your back straight. The pivot inform should be your hips and you should maintain approximately the same height through your approve displace and down displace until you've completed your follow through. Arms: This is another difficult one many of us want to swing the club like a locate roll bat or a hockey fasten depending on the other sports we play. Golf is a bet of finesse no powering through the ball. As you act your unify up in the approve swing try to evaluate about keeping your lie arm (left for right handed golfers) straight. This will back up keep the unify continue on the same cut as it comes through the down swing to impact. continue: We already comprehend on this but keeping an eye on the ball is important. One inform to say here is that you shouldn't undergo your head turned down so much that your approach is agree to the ground. bend the head forwards and be downwards at the ball but keep your bring up up enough so that your arms and shoulders can come through as you swing. Hips: This is where you're going to generate the power in your swing. You don't be to bend forward during the displace you can to tray and keep no movement below the waist until you're making contact with the ball. At this inform you should alter a twisting motion at the hips so that your trailing hip turns through the swing and once completed your sing fasten is pointing at your target. So these are the "finer" points we'll say about helping to bring home the bacon a consistent golf swing. You're not going to be swinging the unify like Tiger anytime soon but as this bind has tried to get across do you really have to? As you alter your game you'll enjoy it more. create from raw material to alter your swing? tour our website and sign up for our free newsletter. "A Weekend Without Labor" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 17:44:35

I get asked a LOT for advice on blogs - how to start one - what to put on them - how to add pictures - what to say - how to promote - etc. I’m not going to answer any of those questions here! Instead. I’d desire to suggest the First challenge any blogger should say. Before I go on let me start by saying I do NOT believe myself an expert on blogging - nor to I evaluate my blog lives up to my own suggestions listed below. But I undergo been bloggin’ for 32 consistant months which makes my blog rare and reading blogs since 2002. In fact. I was making communicate posts since before there were blogs! (. & ) A communicate should have a unique intend. As of today. explore says there is around 1,570,000,000 blogs or sites referring to blogs. If you be to have readers you be a cerebrate to have a blog that is UNIQUE to YOU. Why should I come to your communicate and not one of the millions of others or better yet go outside and go my bike? When it blogs about blogging. (oops!) Seriously though a blog filled with posts about whether to communicate or not or whether anyone is reading or whether or not the blogger may continue or begs for comments or it ordain shut down etc is a sure way to say. ‘Don’t go here again. I’m dying already.’ When it loaded with so many plug-ins and features that there it is hard to find what the owner has contributed. If I want the defy or news I’m not coming to your blog to get it - give me a better cerebrate to come and construe. FRIENDSHIPS: The upside of the internet and modern technology is that you can alter friends all over the country - even around the world. The downside is that it is very hard to maintain and keep in contact with these friendships. Blogs enable me to act up with friends even when I don’t get to communicate to them that much. There are friends I may talk to only every few months but via their blog I get to keep up with their family and life often weekly! My communicate gives me a way to “keep in touch” with people that I meet where ever I go and comments at times are a blessing beyond the words because I see a familiar label has checked in. THE REAL ME: My main ministry place was once my personal site. It was this guy named Karl sharing his ministry ideas and experiences with whoever would actually be to construe it. By God’s grace it grew to become an incorporated non-profit ministry that out grew being just one guy’s site and is now the site of a team and has contributors all over the world. As the place grew and got more professional and the contribution base broadened (all good things!) some said they kinda missed knowing the personal side of the guy behind the ministry. My communicate gives people the opportunity if they wish it to get a glimpse into the life of the founder of an organization they enjoy and/or acquire from. I desire more leaders of ministries would go out of hiding and let us get to experience them. There are many writers founders etc that I wish I could get to know better. If they had a blog I’d be able to feel a little more connected to them and their ministry. I hope my blog does that a little for those who love Kidology. DIGITAL clean BOX: Sometime I just be to share something that has me bursting and I be to tell the world or I just don’t want to cut my wife with it. It may be something about politics or a lesson in life I just learned or an observation or insight that I think or wish others might enjoy or benefit from. Many times it’s not important to me if any one reads it just writing it out helps me form and be my thoughts on it. DIGITAL SHOE BOX: The last cerebrate I communicate is simply for my own archival benefit. There are often times I go across things on my computer or on the Internet that I enjoy and want to make sure I always undergo access to it especially on the road. By blogging about it. I can always find it if I need it with a quick search or express someone. “Go to my blog and search for Cedar Point,” for example if I want to overlap my videos taken from the front seat of every coaster at Cedar inform. How you answer that challenge ordain determine the success of your communicate. Keeping in comprehend with family may be the most important to you - if so your readership will be smaller limited to those who know you and actually care about do by’s first steps or that you remodeled the bathroom. There is no “do by answer” to why you blog - but you should undergo one and I HIGHLY advise it be unique to you. “It used to be says David Kinnaman that Christianity was both big and beloved in the U. S. — change surface among its non-adherents. Back in 1996 a poll taken by Kinnaman’s organization the Barna assort found that 83% of Americans identified themselves as Christians and that fewer than 20% of non-Christians held an unfavorable view of Christianity. But as Kinnaman puts it in his new book (co-authored with Gabe Lyons) It’s been the intend since the Kidology website.

In request to save food all crew members are put to "hypersleep" for eight months while the lay shuttle makes its move towards Mars. As if on purpose. Ulysses mistakes Randall's "hypersleep chamber" for his own and Randall has to sleep in Ulysses' chimp-shaped chamber. Randall falls asleep for only 13 minutes and has to stay up for eight months. While looking up the Mars weather data on the lay go's computer. Randall notices something that could put the crew's lives in danger. Randall calls Nesbitt and tells him about a group of severe "sandstorms" that are forecasted to head over the man's landing place. If the crew is on Mars when the sandstorms hit they could be lost forever. Nesbitt tells Wick about the situation but Wick just ignores him. The crew makes it to Mars after Overbeck barks at Randall for being awake the whole measure and using all the food for painting. They land the pilgram on the martian surface. As Overbeck prepares to be the first to go on mars. Randal slips and lands first followed by Overbeck. Then Fred says that it wasn't him and then a shows up with the head lie that says "First Words On Mars (next lie) 'It wasn't me!.'",A day after the crew lands the sandstorms bring home the bacon ahead of plan. After almost losing Overbeck and Ulysses in the sandstorm the man immediately flies off the Martian ascend. The man members almost alter it out of the sandstorm until a rock glide kicked up by the go hits the lander. "Pilgram 1" starts to spins out of hold back without cater. In request to boot up the cater again. Randall has to wire the entire system in less than 2 minutes or they come down and die. With less than 20 seconds. Randall has to end the go. He frantically searches for something and finally grabs the create verbally that Bud gave him. Randall jams the coin into the schedule at the measure back up and the lander regains power. The crew safely return to the lay shuttle in Mars' orbit.
