Hey guys,I got a few extra minutes here so I thought I’d update you on some things. First off I undergo been up Bishop Creek and up Rock Creek and the fall colors have started. move back and forth Creek has the most color with the trees on the east side of the canyon really turning right now and many other areas turning also. The south lift of Bishop Creek is beginning to move above the Table Mtn Campground. The middle and north forks weren’t turning at all.
Some things I’m noticing already is that there are many trees that aren’t changing color but just look desire the leaves died off. There are also a lot of trees that are a dull yellow orange color and just don’t look that good. We’ll see what the fall brings. Things undergo started early this year.
Also the weather forecast is calling for our first dusting of snow later on this week. Right now they are saying Thursday and Friday snow levels could be around 7000′. That should really impel the fall colors and get them going good. I’m still thinking that if you are in the Eastern Sierra the first week of Oct you should be able to see some nice trees.
Ok now for me. My move to Wisconsin is still on but plans have changed. I will now be going with Tammy’s parents and we ordain be taking the sell of Tammy’s ashes approve to be placed at her grandparents carve site. (Most of Tammy’s ashes are going up Bishop Creek at our wedding place this Saturday.) We haven’t set the date we’re leaving yet but it ordain be within the first week of Oct. So instead of the two - three week move I had planned it ordain now be about a 10 day move and I should be back in Bishop around the lay of the month.
I guess that’s all for now. I ordain create verbally again when I get a chance. Things are going to be very busy around here this week so I may not get a come about until after the memorial. And as always thanks to all of you guys for your prayers and loving thoughts. They mean a lot to me.
Thanks for the modify on colors. I was hoping to head up to the sierras this past weekend but a major fire broke out here come Big Bear Lake. There were some evacuations. We live on the other align of the lake from the fire so no evacuations for us so far. Unfortunatly today the winds changed create alot of smoke to be here in the valley. My wife has breathing problems so if it gets worse we may have to leave.
Latest reports say the fire has burned 15,000+ acres since friday and came as close as 1/2 mile from the town of Fawnskin. The good news is no lives or homes have been lost.
Thanks…keep us in your prayers. The smoke cleared up a little this evening. Earlier today I couldn’t see the other align of the lake from my office. Now I can…it’s just thick haze. There’s some rain (and possible snow) in the forcast for us thursday. Hopeing we get some.
Steve - You are faithful in keeping us up to date on things in those precious mountains. I gotta get goin’ up there it sounds like. I also be to let you know that you remain in my prayers as you act to grieve the loss of Tammy. It sounds like you are really honoring her. Awesome. Steve! You act care. Lisa (in the Santa Monica Mountains)
Hang in there. I too like Lisa evaluate it is Awesome how you are honoring Tammy. We will never forget her. From the measure she was with us in Bishop she truely was part of Bishop. Even if she hated the cold.
She always made us smile and feel welcome. Tammy still makes me smile as I sit here and evaluate…fasten in there Steven.
This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise eternal sunset eternal dawn and gloaming on seas and continents and islands each in its move as the round earth rolls.
