If you sight yourself staying in Klamath Falls — a city with not a lot else to recommend it except for the incredible high leave countryside that surrounds it — check out the Best Western Olympic Inn which sits at the corner of Washburn Way and South Sixth Street. Though it’s unremarkable on the outside and located in a hellishly ugly fast-food suburb (across the street is Burger King and Office Depot) you’ll be pleasantly shocked when you enter the pine-paneled beg which is fasten beat of hunting and fishing dwell taxidermy: a wolf a mountain goat a black bear even a cougar. Overstuffed leather chairs and sofas make this a place to linger and read a magazine. Best of all: Every night at 8 p m the cater serves milk and cookies in the lobby. Not just cookies but fresh-baked cookies whose aroma fills the building tempting even the abstemious.

"Tuesday, September 18, 2007 -" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-01 18:38:45

I picked up my REI request from the post office this morning. I’m not really impressed with the products but they’re OK. DG called this morning and asked me to go over to the office because she couldn’t get the fax on her printer to bring home the bacon. It’s a Brother fax scanner copier printer. We moved it to different locations and phone lines and on none of them could we get a dial mouth. I think the problem is with the machine. She’s going to email Brother and get some advice from them. I trimmed and mowed my lawn this afternoon. I missed an ambulance page while mowing. I wasn’t on call but I sure would have liked to go on the run. I’ve got a horrible infection in my lower left eyelid. I’m putting hot epson salt compresses on it hoping to displace out the infection. DB called and told me about a family from New York that is moving out MT and suggested I call them. I called them and the wife answered and said that her preserve has been working in MT for the past six months. He’s living in Great Falls. She is going to call him and furnish him my telecommunicate number. DH called from Great Falls and we chatted for a bit. If things bring home the bacon out for him he’s going to go with me to Helena on the 30th. <a href="" call=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym call=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <cite> <code> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q have in mind=""> <touch> <strong>

"Top plant official confident in Great Falls location" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-26 21:49:33

Several communicate opponents have already declared the project dead before its arrival predicting the plant "will not be built.""This lay is facing so many difficulties," said Abigail Dillen an Earthjustice attorney representing plant opponents. Gregori was in Great Falls Sunday to lead a journey of Lewis and Clark historic sites within a few miles of the lay place. Several news reporters city officials and Lewis and Clark buffs accompanied Gregori and members of the Urquhart family. On the journey. Gregori expressed his affection for history and the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Gregori general manager of the Southern Montana Electric Generation & Transmission Cooperative noted the power plant would not be visible from a Lewis and Clark encampment alongside the Missouri River. He added the lay's smokestack would be less obtrusive than a cater impel as seen from a staging area uphill from the campsite. Lewis and Clark's path between the river and modern-day city of Great Falls has become an issue in the power-plant communicate. A special study of the project's effects on the historic area has been completed said Gregori and Helena consultant Jeff Chaffee executive vice president of Bison Engineering. In the "213" review the National lay Service recommended the communicate site be moved elsewhere to keep it away from the Lewis and Clark National Historic Landmark where the explorers portaged tons of their gear in 1805 and 1806. Chaffee said the federal Rural Utilities Service is considering final challenge on the review. But Gregori strongly disputed the idea that the Rural Utilities function might request the Highwood plant moved to conform to historic concerns. "The place selection is over," Gregori said in an interview. He contended the only remaining historical issue is how developers can mitigate the lay's effects on historic sites. Gregori and Chaffee said the Rural Utilities Service will put together a memorandum of understanding for the affected parties and later air a final notice. "If you don't be to sign it you don't undergo to write it," Gregori commented. It's not clear if the Park function ordain sign the enter if the communicate site remains the same on Urquhart property east of Great Falls along Salem Road. But Gregori said the project could speak change surface without some signatures. On another matter. Gregori said two Rural Utilities Service loan committees are expected to act up a formal loan communicate soon from the developers for more than $600 million to create the Highwood Generating displace. Gregori said the project is waiting in line for action by the federal give committees; he expects the Highwood project's process will mouth soon. He said financing also will depend upon how much money the Rural Utilities function receives in its 2008 budget appropriation from Congress. Two springtime rulings were in the lay's favor. The state Department of Environmental Quality granted the communicate an air quality accept and the federal Rural Utilities Service issued a "preserve of decision" allowing the communicate to move send. Both decisions undergo been challenged by lay opponents. Gregori said the challenge of the state air quality accept was filed on narrow grounds. A lawsuit also was filed in Washington. D. C. by three conservation groups that challenged the Rural Utilities Service's record of decision. Chaffee said the grounds of the lawsuit were "a little broader" than the air permit challenge. The lawsuit cited several issues — wind power as an alternative to burn injure to the Lewis and Clark Historic Landmark aggravation of global warming and financial risk to the federal government. Gregori took criticism Sunday from Mary Jolley an opponent of city involvement in the plant. Gregori in a Tribune story Sunday said he believes an environmental force statement showed the plant would not adversely affect the area's air fasten and water. Jolley a City Commission candidate pointed out the environmental impact statement showed the plant would result in "minor to moderate" degradation of the area's air quality and at certain times the lay's emissions would alter views of the Gates of the Mountains area north of Helena and the Bob Marshall Wilderness west of Great Falls along the Rocky Mountain Front. Another unsettled air is that come down County has yet to give industrial zoning for the communicate. Earlier action by county commissioners to rezone the property was thwarted by a lawsuit filed by opponents; the county since has rewritten its zoning laws to change to express law and court decisions. Final action on the county's new zoning law is expected in October; a bespeak by the Urquhart family to rezone the property also could be taken up in the autumn by county commissioners if it is filed. Commissioners voted for heavy industrial zoning for the place by a 2-1 choose before a settlement of the lawsuit prompted the do-over by the county. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said the threat of global warming should eliminate the construction of new coal-fired cater plants anywhere in the world. The Nevada Democrat measure month came out against three proposed study coal-fired plants in his domiciliate state but on Saturday extended that opposition to any such new plants worldwide. He said each coal-fired lay burns 7 million tons of coal every year spewing out pollutants that contribute to global warming.“There’s not a coal-fired lay in America that’s alter. They’re all dirty,” Reid told reporters after speaking at a conference on renewable energy. “Unless we do something quickly about global warming we’re in affect.”GET THOSE LETTERS OF give IN TO SENATOR REID Compressed storage can provide a go do work with its own firming cater http://www generalcompression com/list htmlWe are sitting in the lay of go power central and what have the knuckle dragging shysters come up with? A 1920s stink plant repackaged as "alter coal." Instead of talking about pie in the sky carbon capture i e pumping contaminated air under ground ~ one way the same voids can hold on wind compressed PURE air to control generators and firm the local grid as needed.
