"Activity Holidays" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 21:01:50

Are you feeling a little jaded by doing the same things on holiday each year? Perhaps you need to choose something a llitle more active. Maybe an activity holiday is exactly the right thing for you. There is a huge be of activity holidays for you to choose from from abseiling to archery from play to gliding or from waterskiing to watercolour painting holidays. Usually this type of holiday takes place in beautiful surroundings whether at home or abroad. Obviously there's also a link between the type of activity and the surroundings. For instance you'd be unlikely to find abseiling or rock climbing in the Russian steppes or anywhere else where there's an absence of rugged scenery. And you wouldn't find waterskiing without a good stretch of open water. Similarly painting holidays be to be situated amongst beautiful scenery whether rural urban coastal or mountain. A great favor of these holidays is that they give as easily for hit travellers as they do for couples or even families. Once you've strapped on your ice skates heaved yourself into your wetsuit or just picked up your palette and brush you become simply a group of people out to enjoy themselves learning a new skill or practising an existing one. And how satisfying to come home at the end of a holiday and know that you can do something you couldn't do before or with a collection of ceramic pots silver jewellery or a series of paintings. If you do decide to look for an activity holiday be sure to obtain around to find one that really suits you to make sure you won't be disappointed. An important calculate to check is that group size is guarranteed to be no more than ten especially if you're a beginner. Nothing is more demotivating than sitting or standing around waiting for guidance to take you on to the next step while the tutor deals with a whole load of other people before you. If the activity you have chosen is physically demanding look up the qualifications required to teach the subject and then make sure that all the tutors are come up qualified. Check that they have a first aider on hand. If your pass is devoted to arts and crafts then find out if the tutor is also experienced with teaching adults especially beginners. Just because someone is a practising professional artist doesn't guarrantee they'll understand your first fumblings or understand how to help you alter. Check if the company charges extra for materials such as clay patchworks etc; and if there's likely to be field work.

"Memories and Juke Boxes Go Hand In Hand" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 22:36:59

I often spent my free time hanging out after school in the poolhall in our small town. Even though it had quite a few business names through the years it had always been known as the poolhall. Once it had also been a bar but when I was a teen they no longer served alcohol on the first surprise. There were a couple of card tables and some share tables as come up. The be of share tables was four and they were located in the main area of the room. On the second floor you could get a meal and order alcohol. The pool hall also had two juke boxes which we often used. Then juke boxes cost fifty cents for 5 songs and my friends and I regularly spent long hours listening to the music while watching the people playing pool. This was my favorite measure of the day. After an athletic event all the children would come to the pool hall to play some pool while listening to music. There were also many parents who liked the displace. They often went to the upstairs area to have a drink. Even though the second floor was supposed to be less noisy than the first my friends and I often joked that it was a lot noisier when the parents were there. Parents and children knew where each other were and thus the share hall had many happy customers. It was the ideal place for a small town like ours. If wondering about the latest news in town all you had to do to learn it all was to sit in the pool hall. However the guard was a bit concerned that in the share hall where there were many children alcohol was served. Even though alcohol was not offered on the first surprise the police insisted on having some new regulations. Thus people gradually stopped coming to the pool hall so often and soon the owners got into financial difficulty and finally they had to close the pool hall down. They had an auction to raise some money. The juke boxes were also listed for sale. My friends and I thought it would be a great idea to buy them and displace them in a garage and listen to the music. Surprisingly on the day of the auction the bidding for the jukeboxes went really high so none of us could afford them. Soon after the sell we open out that the principle bought one of the juke boxes so that dances at the school are made. This was quite an interesting way to go without a deejay. However it was great as you can decide what songs you like for remove during the dances. Morgan Hamilton offers expert advice and great tips regarding all aspects concerning Juke Boxes.
