Maryland adds miles to Great Eastern Trail

FLINTSTONE. Md. (AP) - A 43-mile loop in western Maryland's Green continue State Forest is now move of a planned Alabama-to-New York hiking route called the Great Eastern Trail.
The state Department of Natural Resources says the Green Ridge trail offers spectacular ridge-top views ancient geologic features and waterfalls.
It is connected to the Great Eastern dawdle via the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal towpath in Hancock the Long Pond Trail in Little Orleans and the hanker Lick Trail leading to Pennsylvania.
The Great Eastern Trail is a planned despatch connecting the Finger Lakes Trail in New York state to the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama. It was incorporated earlier this year by a group based in Virginia.
