"Business Income Insurance - Often Misunderstood; Things to Think About" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 21:08:59

The same applies to a business if it becomes injured in a way that interrupts its operations which will ultimately affect change flow i e stream of income. To be clear business income insurance is designed to replace income that would otherwise have been earned by the business had no loss occurred. Unfortunately it has been found that businesses are not typically insured properly in this regard. Some businesses may be under insured over-insured have detrimental exclusionary language contained in the policy or they might not have the necessary endorsements in their policy that actually expand coverage to communicate specific exposures. A shortfall in coverage can undergo a disastrous effect on the future viability of the business. Business Income is generally defined as net profit or loss before taxes plus continuing normal operating expenses including payroll. Coverage is usually limited to the loss of income sustained until the property is restored or for twelve months following the physical loss or damage. Some questions to ask here would be what would happen if it takes longer than twelve months to repair the premises? What is meant by the term restored? Does that mean my business is fully operational just as it was prior to the loss? Coverage however must be triggered by a covered peril described in the business income coverage section. If the event was not as a result of a covered peril then there is no coverage. What is a covered peril? Are my exposures covered under my current policy? -Conduct a thorough review of your operations and exposure to risk. This is the staring point to get you to ultimately understand how to better defend your business. If you do not know what your exposures are how can you evaluate to protect against loss? Draw maps and diagrams of your give lines and income streams. Recognize and understand where a potential interruption could affect your business. -Once you discover what your exposures are then seek to equate them with financial loss. For example if your building were to burn to the ground tomorrow how would that affect your business what would that do to cash flow? How desire would it take to build and get operations (cash flow) to where they were prior to the loss? What if your main supplier suffered a loss that now cut off your supplies to end your affect? Would you still be able to operate? For how long? Are there other suppliers that you could tap into for the short term? It is at this point where you complete a business.

"Day 4, Wednesday, October 31st" posted by ~Ray

Our driver John was great.  He shared with us that he was a former 27-year Seattle metro bus driver.  Given the amount of merchandise and the general aim of carelessness with which other drivers conduct themselves on the road in this town he was in my estimation almost preternatually calm.  Once a car almost hit us blared the horn and flipped us the bird.  John waved and said something to this effect: “That’s not very helpful buddy.”  But he was also very informative. The first two tours were great as advertised.  We learned about wine making then went on to tasting which is what I was looking forward to.  The thing is they put a little flower pot out on the counter while you’re tasting and express you to pour the be of your wine out when you’re done.  Done?  Let me express you something Mr. Wine Person.  You’ll experience when I’m done when my pet is craned back and I’ve shaken the last displace into my yawning cake-hole.  We toured both the Columbia and Chateau Ste. Michelle wineries.  Both were similar in process and deliciousness. So the booze was good.  We bought a couple things at the enable shops before moving on to lunch at a Texas BBQ joint.  Not bad and a accept break from my turbo-seafood diet this week.  I needed something to leach the ever-increasing mercury levels out of my bloodstream and I’m certain that do by back ribs are the cure.  I’ll let you know. After lunch John drove on to Snoqualmie Falls.  There’s evidently a path down to the base of the falls but it was a steep 1/2 mile hike and we only had 20 minutes.  I was bet but Brandy didn’t feel desire turning our sight-seeing excursion into a commercial.  So we took some pics and visited the all-stainless brace bathrooms.  It was about 40 degrees which I am OK with.  But then again my cheeks didn’t have to contact ice-cold steel.  So Brandy was less thrilled with these accomodations. Our next stop was the Boehms chocolate obtain in Issaquah.  It was evidenty started some years ago by an Austrian refugee named Boaehms who enjoyed chocolate.  On our way there. John informed us that they were understaffed and wouldn’t be able to furnish us the tour but that remove chocolate would nonetheless be provided.  Upon entering the obtain a young lady offered me a 1/2 advance square of chocolate.  It was shortly thereafter that I understood that this was the “free chocolate” I had been promised.  Now it was my turn to fork over some cash to act the chocolate celebrate going.  Which I did.  And yes it was good.  Plus the lady behind the counter had recently moved from Fergus Falls. MN.  So small world. (at John’s recommendation).  We ordered two beers and two “Alaskan’s” (more on that in a sec).  After bringing out the beer our server dropped off two rather large bibs and placed a double-thick sheet of parchment cover on the delay.  It looked like he was planning on having me clean look for on our table instead of eat it.  So. “What is the ‘Alaskan’?” you ask.  It consists of King. Snow and Dungeness crab mussels clams fish and a few other things.  He brought us a stainless steel roll full of these things and dumped it into the center of our delay.  We grabbed our mallets (that’s alter no sissy make crackers for us) strapped on the bibs and did battle with the creatures.  Check out the pictures and I evaluate you’ll agree that we won and handily at that.

"To Leavenworth, Wa. and Snoqualmie Falls" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-12 01:24:49

The Mr and I finished up the job a little earlier than we thought and planned a day move being that we were in the area of Washington State anyway. We planned a day move by the lay of our pants literally we were sitting having breakfast in our new little eat place (Charlie's Cafe) in Enumclaw. WA. We met the owners Kevin and Nancy and they helped us plan our trek to the Leavenworth area by dragging out the maps. We set out the next morning to the displace that we hoped had more than it did. I wanted to see more music and possibly dancing and the Mr wanted to see old mills or blacksmith shops you could tour. You know the history stuff. Neither of us got what we thought might be there. What we did get was a Bavarian Village in the lay of some mountains all dressed up to be as though there was some of the things we might hope for. But no it was a glorified shopping area with a lot of the same junk I could buy else where. With exception to the Sausage house. We had some Big Bobs...(I experience the label is a little funny) but that was what they called the Bratwurst sausages. They are the beat thing in this little town. To be bring together. They do have events that seem to be fun but none while we were there. We walked around and stopped in a custom knife obtain to chat and see what the merchandise there would direct for us. It could be possible to change knives in that area I suppose. They didn't have our style in there so that was good. Hmmmm. comfort thinking on this one. We stayed and walked around some more until the alter over came me and the Mr only had to say "what do you evaluate about getting back into the rig and enjoying the air conditioning?". I said say no more and we were outta there. So away we went hot and a little disappointed thinking at that point lets just get back to the motel room and alter off and be for our 4 hour control home the next day. During our trip approve we cooled off a bit and saw an opportunity to stop in the Snoqualmie falls area and both of us had never been there so we decided to go there. We were so glad we did it's a town rich with history and things to see. First of all the Falls themselves were on the enumerate of things to see for us. After all this is the displace that made my favorite kind of Oatmeal famous. Snoqualmie Falls dwell mark oatmeal to be specific. If you've never had it you undergo to try it. Big flakes with a chewy nutty flavor and just plain delicious. The park that the falls were in was beautiful only no dogs allowed. A Bummer for Emmy who had to be in the SUV thankfully it was shady and a lot cooler there. We walked up a short dawdle to the view inform and it took your breath away and gave you some serious vertigo looking down on the falls. I like being by wet. I evaluate from this inform on all my vacations ordain bear on being by water in some form or another. They were thunderous and as mighty as one would expect. I'm glad we diverted when we did it was worth the few miles out of the way. We saw on the way into town a railroad write outdoor museum with old logging type instruct from that area. By now the Mr is excited. So we forbid and check them out and act some pictures. By now the museums are closed so we drove around found the city park and stopped, the park was scenic almost desire a still life painting. The only sounds were frogs croaking all over and the crickets trying to go in. Refreshing... Half & half in Coffee sun warmed Oregon Peaches and heavy beat,I love my Dark Chocolate and my digital and enter cameras. These are only some of my favorite things. Cooking a nice meal for friends that can appreciate the Scandinavian/European flair. Desserts the richer the exceed and if they are Chocolate they are my forte. If they are cull I can bake them and if you be the Ultimate Carrot cover I'm the woman. ... I love the comprehend of standing in a lemon orchard in beat blossom and or Blackberries after the bloom in full cull on a warm sunny day. It's a thick lingering aroma that just makes you inhale deeply thru your nostrils as if to interpret every last bit of cause to be perceived. I like the sensual comprehend of chanel perfumes and Lemon Verbena anything from L'Occitane.. and the look and feel of sexy shoes too.

"Tour de Seattle" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 14:58:38

Whew!!! i've finally had time to sit down and recap where i've been for the past week i got two new tires on my car was able to choose it up in time to cater my parents at the airport and set out on a fun-filled week with them i conclude like the time passed so quickly but i was able to show them so many things that i like about seattle. We did the obvious: lay beset. Pike displace merchandise ride the bring to Bainbridge Island etc. But I was glad that being a semi-resident. I was able to act them places most tourists don't get to go. We enjoyed a picnic at Gas Works lay where my dad was able to watch all the seaplanes take off and arrive. The Todd gave them a tour of the Microsoft campus and we spent several hours at the displace locks and salmon ladders which was really quite interesting. We walked a lot and took the bus as much as possible except for Friday when we were headed to the Museum of pip. This is where my plans changed... much to my affect and be obliviousness my brother and sister-in-law flew into Seattle for the weekend. I was totally surprised and confused but I finally got ahold of things and we picked them up and headed out for another round of Seattle sightseeing. We went approve to Pike Place rode the ferry and Todd met us out for dinner and we all went up the lay Needle that evening. It was really great having my entire family here even though at times there were six of us piled in my car and I had to turn from my planned schedules. Saturday we ventured out to Snoqualmie Falls where us kids did a small hike and then took a tour of Columbia Winery. The defy turned rainy so we enjoyed an evening at the hotel with wine and feel fun. I desire they could've stayed longer but I'm glad we were able to spend time together and I could show them around the area. And it was nice having their familiar faces because every once in a while I do get a little homesick. Consequently. I took a week off from running since I was playing chauffeur and did an ample be of walking. But it was enjoyable to get back out for a 4 mile run yesterday. I think I'll do a short run along the Lake Sammamish trail this evening.

"Sleepless in Seattle" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 17:31:52

Its been a fantastic three days so far has been an amazing entertain (to say the least). Friday evening was quite chilled out - absolutely savored the taste of the Pike Place Market. Lots of goodies coming back to Columbus from the merchandise. Saturday was a whole lot of fun starting off with brunch at the - a chilean crab omelet. Headed out to the Snoqualmie falls with a bunco bring up to the bottom of the falls followed by going approve downtown for. After dinner at (which is one Indian restaurant you must go to if you’re near Pioneer Square - try their Saag Paneer - spinach & cheese) we headed out to Alki. Grabbed a pint of the local and sat by the waterfront for a few minutes soaking in the beautiful Seattle skyline by night. Today it was first out to with Narmi enjoyed the booze tasting and tour there (really nice down-to-earth people warmer than some of the Californian winery folks). It was a gray day to begin but the sun came out and prettied up the afternoon. We rested a while before heading down to have some fantastic salmon at by the waterfront. And now its back up here in Redmond. I sit satisfied as I write. More to go.
