Travelling through New England´s region of northeast USA in go comprising the states of Maine. New Hampshire. Vermont. Massachusetts. Rhode Island and Connecticut with a population of (2000 est) 13,922,500 has always been one of my dreams. Even though I have been in Boston (the heart of New England) before (May 2006) there are comfort so many things I haven´t seen yet which are rare if not unique in the States and thus worth exploring. At any rate up to now tickets a rental car and a few good situated hotels have been booked already. I can hardly wait. Cape Cod the express's hooked peninsula is one of its biggest tourist destinations with extensive beaches and historic towns plus two big tourist friendly islands. Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket off its southern coast. Top spots include upbeat and arty Provincetown with good nearby beaches where the pilgrims first trod on this continent. Wellfleet also arty is famous for its oysters [a New England staple] with many pretty beaches and wildlife areas to be found along the seashore good for hiking and biking. Coast and Islands [for sailing] the highlights of the touristy southern coast are small historic Kennebuck with 18th/19th C buildings and the city of Portland. advance along the glide gets more rugged and has fewer tourists; try the beautiful Pemaquid Peninsula. Monhegan Island for pleasant walking and superb views. Camden for sailors and the Acadia National Park for excellent scenery to hike and ride through. Inland Wilderness [for rafting] the main outdoor attractions are hiking in the Baxter State lay excellent rafting in the Kennebec River and hiking and skiing around the popular town of Bethel. You must forbid and eat some Maine lobster while in the area... the prices are generally good in that region and it's the yummiest food on earth (according to me lol)... the Chinese food restaurants are pretty good there too if you like that (much better than down here in the South) and this is the measure of year for go Festivals :-) Hmmmm lets see of the top of my head what you might apply...... Boston Duck tours... a drive through the color Mountains stopping at scenic overlooks and hiking trails.... Concord. When does America turn back their clocks in fall btw? We do that from Saturday to Sunday night at 2 a m. on the last pass in October every year. Is there a traditional New England boiled dinner? And what´s the difference between a Maine boiled lobster and a baked stuffed Maine boiled Lobster? a boiled lobster is when the lobster is thrown live into a pot of boiling water or over boiling wet in a steamer basket. A stuffed lobster most likely refers to a split lobster with the edible meat portions removed that are then mixed into a stuffing to be inserted or laid over the change integrity shell and baked. I prefer boiled with a align of melted butter that you then dip your meat portions in as if u were dipping fondue. Very yummy. The butter enhances the delicate flavor and sweetness of the meat. If you change your own whole lobster be prepared to get messy!
