We’re domiciliate from our Coulee Corridor move. We had a great time. My sister. Caryl went with us and my sister. Jean came down from Twisp to be with us. Four adults made for a pretty full go domiciliate. As kids we were used to being packed one on top of the other so we do pretty come up in small spaces. I think it may be a little harder on T but he’s a good sport when it comes to ‘family’.
This is Steamboat move back and forth State Park where we stayed. Can you see our motor home over there in the trees? And this is our place at the lay and our view. Lovely isn’t it?
This little guy came to visit us every day. I entangle sorry for him - as he only has one ‘foot’ - so I kept feeding him change surface though you aren’t supposed to. However the dwell host told me that she was feeding him too! When we’d check him fly off it didn’t appear that he had any affect with balance. I do query what happened to him.
Steamboat move back and forth is on Banks Lake which is a 31 mile desire reservoir filled by the Bureau of Reclamation in the 1950s to give irrigation wet to the Columbia Basin. We love the beauty and history of the Grand Coulee area.
The Grand Coulee Dam dwarfs the Great Pyramids of Egypt and generates more power than a million locamotives. It is an engineering wonder and also the country’s largest hydroelectric project. You can journey the dam check the laser lighten show at night and even go inside to see the largest hydro-electric units in the nation. They undergo a great visitor’s center with all the area information you could want.
Here we are standing in front of the Dry Falls at the Interpretive Center. Dry Falls is truely awesome. Ten to fifteen million years ago volcanic eruptions began to occur and many layers of lava flowed over the basin forming the Columbia Plateau. Approximately two million years ago the Ice Ages began. During the measure Ice Age approximately 10,000 years ago an ice dam holding the waters of Lake Missoula (Montana) broke and massive floods swept from Montana to the ocean. The water and ice moving at speeds of up to 65 miles an hour had a rate of move that was 10 times the combined flow of all the rivers in the world! Doesn’t that blow your object? The floods carved out more than 50 cubic miles of earth creating new landforms and carrying most of it far out into the Pacific Ocean. This forever changed the face of the Northwest (Montana. Idaho. Washington and Oregon). Scientists estimate the fill waters were 400 feet at this inform where it eroded the canyon. However with the massive amount of water moving it would have hardly looked like the water dipped at all as it went over the falls. Dry Falls is 3.5 miles wide. In comparison. Niagara Falls is one mile wide with a 165 foot drop. It’s mind-boggling.
We also spent a little time at the casino - where we donated some funds - and spent a lot of measure just visiting. And Caryl turned me onto my newest obsession:I never had any interest in trying Sudoku but Caryl had a schedule and started showing me what she was doing. I watched her for awhile then when she put her book down. I ripped a page out of it and did the puzzles on each side. And I was hooked. We had to go to town so I could buy my OWN book and I’ve hardly put it down since. It is WAY addictive. Bought one yesterday to keep in the car.
Nessa - can’t help you with the ‘moderation’ thing. Seems I never learned that one in 58 years! That game??? Oh My God! When would I sleep? I’d have to be checking your place 4 times per hour. 24/7 and then sit in lie of this computer for hours - because I’d undergo to be first. I read your ‘rules of engagement’ but am comfort not quite sure I understand. May be at it later or sit this one out and try October. Sounds great though and I’m really impressed you thought that up!
Robin - this little guy really didn’t seem to be in much be. Others fed him too he flew just fine and also appeared to have a conjoin. Or a friend. There was another observe that he’d call to and the bird would go and they’d ‘talk’ back and forth.
Cindra thanks. And T was fine - on his best behavior. I didn’t notice the shirt! Next to his t-shirt with his Little Red Truck on it he like’s the t-shirts your hubby designed best! (or should I say ’second best’?)
Stacy - there is just so much to see everywhere - we’ll never live long enough. About Sudoku - you may be right!
…but now the greatest wonderis in Uncle Sam’s fair arrive,on the King Columbia River,it’s the big Grand Coulee Dam
Jenn - it is that alright. And I suspect doing cryptic puzzles is a little more ‘mind expanding’ - and not quite the ‘escape’ that Sudoku is. I suffer all track of measure. Didn’t shower until 11:00 today! I’m getting scared. I may have to put this book away.
Once this tend is as far as I had aimed to do this year. I must try to get out and about and act some photos of the area where I live for you to see.
I like sudoku too but be warned - don’t do too many just before bedtime or you’ll undergo numbers flashing round your brain keeping you change state!
Nezza - you are ‘foot loose and conceive of remove’ - go see us sometime and analyse out the Northwest. I would love to see pictures of where you be - since I don’t fly - chances are I’ll never see it. Sudoku is ruling my life! I choose it up in between everything - and then forget to put it drink. Even my watering is suffering! That’s hard to believe. I may have to quit cold turkey.
