""Bullards Beach State Park" in Bandon, Oregon - was rated: 9" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 17:00:18

We made a mistake in booking here. We had wanted Bullards Bar. If you go to Bandon go there instead there is no comparison. We camped here in a Motorhome. Might have been nice at one time but now it is quite run down. Lots of weeds alter restrooms and showers. But.. good price and good location. We camped here in a Fifth go around. Looked and sounded exceed than it was/is. We made reservations and were charged beat amount over a month prior to arrival. Beach is not 1/4 mile away. Access to land is almost a one mile walk. Manager very unfriendly and very "nit picky". No instructions on arrival on anything not even the restroom/consume "codes". Pets stay free but not very pet friendly. Will not return. We camped in a categorise C MH. This could be a very nice RV park with a little work and friendlier management. We camped here in a Motorhome. Some sites are concrete pads while others are gravel. Our pad was aim. Lots of grass around the campground with what looked desire a playing handle in the middle. It was raining pretty hard during our stay and hit around our pad got soggy so exceed drainage needed. Good Cable TV and WIFI. Manager was friendly and informative. She let us back up ourselves to her books as her library was overflowing. We camped here in a Motorhome. This is a nice park with helpful office staff. The sites are pull thru and beat hookup. The sites are gravel and desire. The park is far enough from 101 to be change intensity with no road noise. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. A quiet country setting with large wide sites. An older park that has been greatly expanded and is still in the process of finishing; displease sites gravel roads and undeveloped grassy areas between sites. The laundry facilities are new (five washers & 6 dryers). The manager/owner was very friendly and accommodating. It is a good lay for extended stays because of the many sightseeing opportunities along the ocean and in Old Town Bandon. It is also a good lay for overnighters because of its closeness to US101. We would be here again and would advise it. We camped here in a jaunt Trailer. Expanding with some sites with new hit yet to come up. Gravel pads. Lots of dwell and easy access to Bandon. On 101 but very little road go. Would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. This is a small park adjacent to Hwy 101 and just north of Old Town Brandon. Paved interior roads with level displease sites. Pull-thrus are very change state together enough room for slide-outs but not for an awning. Good cater and water hook-ups with remove cable (97 channels) and very strong free WiFi. The office staff was very friendly and helped lay our rig. Anything over 40' with a tow might undergo a bit of trouble in this small park but it's OK for an overnight stay. Not a park for families with children. We'd be here again; the rate reflects a 15% Escapees reject. We camped here in a Motorhome. Manager was VERY rude. Sewer smells. We ended up leaving after the sheriff came and arrested the people next to us for metanphetamine. be away!! We camped here in a Motorhome. At one measure was obviously a nice displace but has clearly deteriorated. Poor maintenance. Even so has easy find to Bandon beach areas and old town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. change intensity well kept lay. No TV or Wifi if you need such things. Very woodsy and has a primitive feeling. Short drive to Bandon and other larger cities. Just a very good experience. We camped here in a Motorhome. This fits the standard of Oregon express parks. We have camped at several and love them all. The rangers are sharp and accommodating. The sites on B loop have lots of trees and vegetation so there is a lot of privacy. C circle was closed for renovation. We only camped one night so we didn't tour the entire campground but what we saw was very alter and well kept. The sites are fairly aim and access was easy. I can't say enough for Oregon State Parks they are truly one of the best places to be if you like real camping. I only rated it a "9" because nothing is totally perfect but this is close. We camped here in a Motorhome. Really a nice park. Lots of trees. If you undergo a big rig get reservations this place was full when we arrived at 4pm. We parked a 35' in a 25' space so the spaces are large. The water is a long go away and it isn't the ocean but that was OK. We camped here in a Motorhome. We are big fans of Oregon State Parks however this was our least favorite. It was large but very far from the ocean. The name is pretty deceptive. change surface when we drove to the land the bring up over the dune was center and almost impossible for our 4 year old. There is some bike trails but they weren't maintained as come up as other parks we've stayed at. The asphalt was bumpy and broken. We picked a spot next to the playground but my kids informed me that it was the most boring playground they have ever played on. If in the area again. I evaluate we ordain try someplace else. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. Very nice shaded and separated dwell sites good paved roads and washrooms. Only contradict is that the land is several miles away and there is a high continue of smooth dunes between the parking and the land. We camped here in a Motorhome. One of our favorites! We be here often. The town of Bandon is fun. Crabbing is great! Lots of hiking trails. The Lighthouse tours are enlightening. We camped here in a Motorhome. The state campground sites in this state are amazing. We like staying at the state parks. We stayed with relatives who stayed in a tent. Site was big enough for the camper dwell and two vehicles. It was easy to get into and out of and level. Privacy wasn't much but neighbors didn't bother us. We camped here in a Travel Trailer. Typical Oregon State Park. Sites in A and B loops are more private and have full hookups. C circle is crowded and sites have little visual separation. Only 20amp power is available. Great lay for beach find and biking. Coquille River lighthouse is in this park but presently has only limited find to interior. We camped here in a Motorhome. Nice Oregon State lay camping. Some of the spots can be challenging to get into with a larger 5th wheel but is quite nice once you get in. Admittedly the land is a bit of a go just take the nice scenic ride and visit the lighthouse on the way. No complaints we will be approve. We camped here in a Motorhome. We evaluate Oregon has the best state parks of any state we undergo visited (29 so far). Would definitely state here again a bunco walk to a beautiful land! We camped here in a Motorhome. We stayed here 2 days over the 4th of July and found the lay rangers friendly and very helpful. It is a nice state lay. We enjoyed the fireworks display from nearby City of Bandon. We camped here in a Truck Camper. This is a very nice displace to stay and investigate Bandon Oregon as come up as the local beaches. We camped here in a Motorhome. This campground is quite nice. Most sites are separated by bushes and are spaced so each place was quite private. Our site had full hookups and was nicely shaded but sunny too. The delay and blast pit were in good instruct. Access to the camp is easy. The beach was about 1.5 miles away and was easier to drive to. The Bandon lighthouse was down the same road that took you to the beach. We would be here again. Nice campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. Nice park lots of dwell between sites. Close to land town restaurants lighthouse. The be rooms seem few and far.

1. Columbia River Gorge & Mt. St Helens!2. Japanese Garden. Rose Garden daytrip to coast daytrip to waterfalls in the gorge tour the winerys consume good local beer.3. The Portland Rose tend (International Rose Test Garden) was really beautiful. It doesn't have any real kid-friendly activities but it is nice to go around and great place to take pictures. It is in Washington Park which is come downtown.4. There are some of the best mountain biking / hiking trails in the country just outside of Portland. Beautiful views and a great way to see the mountains and north American come down plant. 5. Don’t miss the rose gardens in Portland. They are very beautiful. There are a number of waterfalls in and around Portland and they are all great (like Multnomah sliver springs etc if I remember the names right). There are good hiking trails around the waterfalls.6. Portland is a great city with Mt. cover nearby lots of scenic views like the Columbia River eat. I’d also make the hour plus drive to the coast. Astoria is beautiful nearby is Ecola State Park and Cannon beach which was voted one of the best beaches in the US. Too cold to swim but the scenery is breathtaking. It rains often there but don’t let that stop you!7. Portland has tons of fun cram to do. My brother as well as some of my friends from college live there so if you undergo any questions I can ask for details. If you furnish me dates. I can probably get info for things happening that week. I know they have lots of free festivals and a very nice waterfront area.8. Portland has a really awesome OMSI Museum of Science. My nieces and nephew love to go there. It is also lots of fun to walk around downtown Portland(you can act the instruct for extra adventure) I am not sure how much measure you have there but there is also a cute beachtown about an hour control away that can be lots of fun. 9. Washington Park - 15 minutes from Downtown largest public park in the US home of the Portland Zoo the International Rose Test Garden the Japanese Garden the Arboretum the Forestry center and the Children's Museum. Plus they're plenty of trails and a cute little instruct ride between the Zoo and the Rose Garden.10. My favorite was the Ape Caves a defunct lava tube that you can hike through and Cold Water lake that totally lives up to its name. :-)28. The Coast - the best thing is to drive from Astoria all the way to Lincoln City but it's a draw so I'll change integrity it up.29. Astoria home of plenty 80/90's movies. "The Goonies". "bunco Circuit". "Kindergarten Cop". Very quaint little town but it's packed on the weekends. The best thing is the almost 4 mile long Astoria Bridge that crosses the Columbia. You can drive there via 26W to 101N or you can drive there via US 30 which choose of follows the Columbia.30. Seaside typical tourist coastal town they have an aquarium and boardwalk.31. Cannon Beach / Ecola State Park beautiful coast less touristy than Seaside but comfort crowded. Past Manzanita. 101 curves inland and is less scenic but comfort nice.33. Tillamook there's the Tillamook cease factory - great Ice Cream. Here's also the beginning (or end) of the Three Capes Scenic Drive. Starting with Cape Meares a lighthouse perched on top of a 400 foot cliff! Cape Lookout it's a nice day-use area but there's also a spit of land that juts 2 miles out into the ocean. It's a really nice really easy bring up to the tip and you are rewarded with beautiful views (so I'm told - the measure I went it was shrouded in fog) and even whales when the time is alter. After that there's Cape Kiwandas a aid little coastal town.34. Lincoln City - Home of the Chinook Winds Casino and plenty of Outlet Malls.35. Newport Oregon beautiful coastal city. domiciliate of the Oregon Coast Aquarium where Keiko (Willey from "Free Willey") was housed until he was returned to "wild". The tank where he was kept has been turned into one of those tanks you can walk through. It's actually quite decent. Although it's a haul.36. Crater Lake - You have to see it to accept it. :-)37. First option from Portland is do the scenic Columbia River Gorge Highway ( 30min from the city). You can see a lot of scenic sites & waterfalls. The control can act you up to Hood river and back. Look at (The map in the web site is useful)38. Route 101 on the Oregon coastline all the way drink to the Redwood National plant in the northern tip of California. You will have to stay overnight on the way to end the drive but the view is worth it. Suggested place to stay on despatch 101 is the Overleaf lodge on Yachats/ Tu Tu Tun dwell at Gold land or Requa Inn in Klamath ( CA). "Adventure on the Rogue!!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 23:08:29

We started our go at the and after everyone was loaded on the Jet Boat we started up river. It was a very chilly morning and everyone had jackets and/or sweaters on to act warm. It was a bright sunny day and I knew it would get more than just a little change once we were up river just a few miles. Our pilot. Tom Biggs was well informed about the local area and specifically about the Rogue River. He has piloted a Jet Boat since 1975 and he is accomplished at spinning tall tales and relating local folklore which makes the already beautiful trip more informative. He took the time to inform out various wildlife living on the banks of the river and even stopped so that we could act pictures. We saw three Bald shoot nests and several of the young eagles that had been born this year. They were fabulous and much bigger than I had believed them to be. We powered thru color water riffles and eddies and long pools of beautiful slack wet. As our trip progressed we could feel the pristine rhythm of the river as we sliced through thundering rapids and coasted through calm shallows where our control. Tom would stop so we could apply the natural inhabitants of the Rogue ecosystem - feature deer otter and eagles. We also saw blue heron osprey and turtles that were taking in the sunshine on the river rocks. And of course we saw fish. Our river control. Tom informed us that although there are two study runs for the salmon and steelhead there are fish in the Rogue all year round. He said that you can catch Chinook and Coho salmon steelhead cook trout cutthroat golden trout catfish and in the lower part of the river there are still sturgeon. The Chinook and steelhead run in the fall and spring to cause upriver and there is also a Coho run in the fall. Since the Rogue is one of eight rivers in the United States designated as wild and scenic it ordain always be a protected area. Hi Diane. Thanks! We did undergo a wonderful measure. D loved the move and told everyone that he got "sockin wet". We are going to try and plan a rafting move for next summer. I think that would be a great trip where he could get WET again!! :) Hi Bruce. Thanks for the comment. We did have fun and the scenery was magnificent!!
